For Non-Appeals

Both self-represented litigants and attorneys must save the completed Court Transcript Request, and then send it to the local County Transcript Office.

If Metro Transcripts is your preferred agency, please notify the Transcript Unit when submitting your request and state that payment arrangements will be made with Metro Transcripts.

For Appeals

For Appeals: There is a difference between the way self-represented litigants and attorneys must file their appeal requests.

Please see the instructions below:

Self-represented litigants – Self-represented litigants who are not represented by an attorney must order their appeal transcripts using the paper Court Transcript Request, which can be accessed via the blue button above. You must then submit your form to the Appellate Transcript Unit by one of the two below methods:

  1. Email the request to Appeal-trans.mailbox@njcourts.gov
  2. Mail the request to:  
    Appellate Division, Transcript Unit
    Hughes Justice Complex
    P.O. Box 968
    Trenton, NJ 08625-0968

Attorneys – All attorney appeals must be e-Filed. To order transcripts for appeal, attorneys must complete a system-generated transcript request form through the eCourts Appellate System. Attorneys can e-file using the link below and entering their Bar ID and password for access.

Metro Transcripts first opened its doors in 2002, at that time providing only legal transcription services. We have expanded the scope of our offerings as the world has become one of teleconferences and Zoom calls. While we do have a long-standing presence in New Jersey, we have grown and changed with the times and can provide national services by handling transcription of body cam files, phone calls, interrogations, and so much more. Our team consists of highly trained individuals, all certified transcribers in the State of New Jersey and some with AAERT certification as well.

We have set the highest standards for our work, and as a result we provide transcripts that are accurate and always on time. If you can provide clear audio, you will receive a flawless transcript without any indiscernible notations. We put forth tremendous effort in transcribing and proofing every word we hear and type.
